“LUS-BOND” is a potent carbonaceous Green Sand Additive, the combination of low ash, high volatile and LUS-BOND contain coupled with the key element grading size, ensures that produced casting are free from metal penetration and surface related problems. We understand that each foundry is different. The control factors vary drastically, and this has prevented research bodies from finding precise values that would bring down the rejection percentages.

We use innovative practices with state-of-the-art materials, data mining techniques and machine learning algorithms to understand green-sand systems unique to foundries. Then, using this data, we develop customized solutions that suit foundries.

Features:

  • Lower rash built up in the system and higher permeability
  • Lower new sand addition and reducing cost.
  • Lustrous Carbon that forms a thin film with high adhesion sand grains.
  • It wells and dug the integration process.
  • Physically expands itself to fill the spaces between the sand grains
  • Lowe moisture additions leading to lower pin holes /blow hole porosity in casting.
  • Excellent as cast finish & peel resulting in lower shot blasting costs.

LUS-BOND ADVANTAGE:

LUS-BOND Powder is tailor made to act as an additive for imparting better finish to castings. LUS-BOND is a carbon-containing additive which is added to the bentonite – bonded moulding sands in order to reduce oxidation, minimize sand adhesion to the casting at shakeout, enhance casting surfaces and combat the occurrence of casting defects. At the same time, the optimizing moulding sand properties and performance.

Competitive Advantage of Using LUS-BOND:

  • Reduction in Bentonite Consumption without affecting GCS
  • Reduction in consumption of Lustrous Carbon
  • Reduction in fresh sand consumption
  • No lumping of sand during shakeout
  • Excellent Flowing Properties
  • Improved refractoriness and permeability
  • Better swelling / button formation

Coal dust is a fine powdered form of coal, which is created by the crushing, grinding, or pulverizing of coal. Because of the brittle nature of coal, coal dust can be created during mining, transportation, or by mechanically handling coal. It is a form of fugitive dust.

Usage:

Required quantities of Coal Dust is added in the mixer, and dry mixed before water addition.

Advantage:

  • Coal Dust Improves the finish of castings.
  • Coal Dust burns out during casting process, providing better collapsibility to sand at knockout.
  • On account of certain developments made on Coal Dust, Bhakti Mines & Minerals can claim a unique record preventing self-ignition altogether.
  • Bhakti Mines & Minerals has ensured consistency in properties of the Coal Dust, which enables foundries to use the same without encountering the usual problems associated with Coal Dust.
  • With Introduction of special coal drying facility moisture content of cold dust are guaranteed.

Indonesian Steam Coal is soft in texture, black & lightweight and is known for its purity, low ash, Various sizes & GAR (Gross As Received) and high thermal efficiency. Indonesian Coal is available in 0-50 mm (Basic Size). Indonesian coals are generally low in ash and sulphur, but on account of their low rank, they have a high content of volatile matter and moisture. The sulphur content is below 1% and, in extreme cases, as low as 0.1%. The high moisture translates into a relatively low calorific value; mostly well below 6,000kcal/kg.

Anthracite contains 86%–97% carbon and generally has the highest heating value of all ranks of coal. Bituminous coal is used to generate electricity and is an important fuel and raw material for making coking coal or use in the iron and steel industry. Subbituminous coal typically contains 35%–45% carbon, and it has a lower heating value than bituminous coal. Lignite contains 25%–35% carbon and has the lowest energy content of all coal ranks. Lignite coal deposits tend to be relatively young and were not subjected to extreme heat or pressure.
